Por su parte la CONAGUA mantiene en vigilancia la zona al norte de Cabo Catoche, Quintana Roo, desde donde Gonzalo se ha ubicado a 415 kilómetros de distancia y se desplaza hacia el oeste noroeste. Cuenta con una probabilidad del 40% de convertirse en un ciclón en las próximas 24 horas, y un 50% de hacerlo en cinco días.
