Sismo con magnitud 5.9 golpea Centro América.
El Instituto de Geociencias de la Universidad de Panamá (IGC) reportó un sismo Magnitud: 5.9 (MLv) a las 16:39 hora local, del día de hoy, con profundidad de 10 km y epicentro en la región costera de la isla Coiba.
El sismo también se sintió en la región occidental de la provincia de Chiriquí, frontera con Costa Rica.

Mientras que el Servicio Geológico de los Estados Unidos dijo que el movimiento ocurrió a unos 70 kilómetros al suroeste de la comunidad de Río Grande, en la central provincia de Veraguas.
Carlos Rumbo, Director del Sistema Nacional de Protección Civil, informó que hasta el momento el sismo no representa ningún riesgo de tsunami, por lo que no es necesario emitir la alerta.
Personal de esta institución ya se encuentra verificando los daños en el área. Aunque hasta el momento no se han reportado daños ni heridos.
Las replicas no se han echo esperar en la región, en donde se han presentado otros movimientos de placa de hasta 4.2 (MLv).
