La fuga de combustible, de este domingo, en un ducto de Pemex paralelo a la vía Tlahuelilpan-Juandhó, en el municipio de Tetepango, Hidalgo, constituye una grave amenaza a cultivos, ecosistemas y especies albergadas.

Personal de la empresa petrolera logró detener el derrame, luego de ejecutar una maniobra en el mantenimiento de los ductos.
El combustible derramado alcanzó canales de sistemas de riego de la región, por lo que ahora se cuenta con la intervención de la Comisión Nacional del Agua, Conagua por sus siglas.

En un comunicado, la dependencia informó que el desfogue del canal La Virgen y el cierre de las compuertas del canal Principal Requena fueron comunicadas a los usuarios de riego en la región, haciéndoles de su conocimiento que el cierre de compuertas fue necesario para evitar afectaciones en sus cultivos, así como otros riesgos en las localidades aledañas.
Sin embargo, son bastas las imágenes en redes sociales respecto al daño causa por el hidrocarburo en las plantaciones agrícolas de la región, así como el recorrido que el derrame realiza por los ríos de la zona.
El 18 de enero de 2019 se produjo una explosión que causó la muerte de 137 personas, por derrame de hidrocarburos. Aunque ahora no hubo vidas que lamentar, se advierte que este trágico evento traerá consecuencia para el hábitat de especies de la región.
Así como de las personas que serán afectadas por la inhalación de los gases que emite el combustible derramado. La autoridad municipal de Tepepango emitió un comunicado dando a conocer que derivado de la fuga de petróleo (…), se está percibiendo olor a petróleo en la colonia Cerro de la Cruz y Tlahuelilpan Centro, resultado de la orientación del viento.
El dictamen de la Coordinación Nacional de Protección Civil, CNPC por sus siglas, aclara que el derrame de combustóleo fue a causa de un error de técnicos de Pemex y no por una toma clandestina.
Y aunque las autoridades locales se encuentran evaluando la situación de las personas que viven en comunidades cercanas, sin que hasta el momento se hayan reportado problemas de intoxicación, se deberá considerar la afectación al medio ambiente y establecer estrategias para reparar el daño.
