Con sede en la zona dorsal medio del Océano Atlántico central, con 10 kilómetros de profundidad.
Aunque no fue percibido en países de Sudamérica, esta región está siendo monitoreada por sismólogos que analizan el fenómeno recientemente descubierto, llamado terremoto boomerang.
Acontecido en el borde transformante de entre las fracturas de Saint Paul y Romanche, esta falla horizontal podría ser clave para detectar los comportamientos de los terremotos entre continentes.
El Servicio Geológico de los Estados Unidos, USGS por sus siglas en inglés, registró en su sismómetro la intensidad.
Mientras que especialistas del equipo conformados por investigadores la Universidad de Southampton y del Colegio Imperial de Londres, ya analizan si este podría ser un terremoto con movimiento reversivo.
