El paraíso rosado de Colombia: fenómeno causado por la microalga «dunaliella salina».
Colombia cuenta con un río rosado que pocos conocen. Es un espectáculo natural que llega cada año en uno de los ríos que corren por la región del Urabá antioqueño.
El afluente, conocido como el está ubicado en el centro del corregimiento de Uveros en San Juan de Urabá.
Según los habitantes de la zona, el río se torna rosado cuando llega el tiempo más caluroso del año.
El río se forma con las olas que ingresan del mar, mismas que chocan con las raíces de los manglares en el caño, lo que genera una despigmentación que tiñe las aguas de tono rosa.
En la naturaleza, la principal responsable de este tono rosa es una microalga llamada dunaliella salina. Esta alga puede darle al agua un tono de color anaranjado a rojizo dependiendo de la intensidad solar.
La razón por la que se da este fenómeno en uveros es que en la temporada de sequía la concentración de sal aumenta en el caño, lo que es predilecto para la formación de los microorganismos.
Un destino que contrasta su color verde selvático con el rosa del río. ¡Todo un fenómeno espectacular!
