Nueva especie de pterosaurio encontrado entre fósiles de museos.

A través de un rastreo de colecciones de fósiles se llegó al hallazgo de una nueva especie de pterosaurio.
Roy Smith, estudiante de doctorado de la Universidad de Portsmouth, descubrió a la nueva especie de pterosaurio entre colecciones de fósiles que se encuentran en el Museo Sedgwick de Cambridge y el Museo Booth en Brighton.

Una de esas características son los pequeños orificios donde los nervios salen a la superficie que los pterosaurios los utilizaban para una alimentación precisa, dijo.
Las espinas de las aletas de tiburón no las tienen, pero los primeros paleontólogos claramente las pasaron por alto.
Dos de los especímenes descubiertos se identifican como un pterosaurio llamado Ornithostoma, pero un espécimen adicional es claramente distinto y representa una nueva especie. Es un misterio paleontológico.
