Las réplicas posteriores se extienden de suroeste a noreste, misma orientación del límite divergente de las placas.
Elevan el nivel de alerta al cuerpo volcánico de Krýsuvík a un nivel en fase tres, por el drástico enjambre sísmico.
Este fenómeno se extendió por toda la península de Reykjanes e inmediaciones del volcán.
Los sismos continúan con más de 1,800 eventos en ton solo 17 horas. Siendo el mayor de magnitud 5.6 Mw, mismo que fue percibido en toda el área.
Las autoridades locales están en alerta ante el drástico enjambre, que no solo registra más de 1.800 sismos, sino que continúa acumulando con un alto número de eventos.
Aunque la mayoría no supera la magnitud 2. Todos se extienden en la península de Reykjanes, y los sismólogos del país no descartan eventos similares del 5.6 Mw.
