Un cohete de la compañía SpaceX, propiedad de Elon Musk, estuvo a punto de tener una colisión con un objeto volador no identificado (OVNI), según lo admitió la propia NASA.
Este hecho habría ocurrido luego de que SpaceX y la NASA lanzaron con éxito a cuatro astronautas a bordo de la nave espacial Crew Dragon, la misma que ya se había utilizado en una misión anterior.
Los estadounidenses Megan McArthur y Shane Kimbrough, así como el francés Thomas Pesquet y el japonés Akikho Hoshide forman la tripulación que el pasado 23 de abril despegó del Centro Espacial Kennedy, Florida, para sumarse a la misión CreW-2.
Sin embargo, mientras se dirigían a la Estación Espacial se les notificó de una probable colisión con un objeto no identificado.
El equipo de NASA/SpaceX fue informado de la posible colisión por el Comando Espacial de los Estados Unidos, reveló la portavoz de la NASA Kelly Humphries.
Por esta razón se les aconsejó a los astronautas que se colocaran sus trajes presurizados en caso de un impacto, ya que que no les daría tiempo de hacer una maniobra para esquivarlo. Sin embargo, al final ya no fue necesario.
Luego del extraño acontecimiento se supo que el ovni se encontraba a una distancia de 45 kilómetros del cohete de SpaceX, por lo cual no hubo un peligro serio de impacto y la nave pudo llegar a la Estación Espacial Internacional, sin ningún otro contratiempo.
Hasta ahora no se ha podido identificar de qué clase de objeto se trataba. Por el momento el Pentágono ha dicho que se está investigando el caso.
