Los inusales movimientos del planeta Tierra y el sol serán una vista curiosa para los futuros astronautas de la NASA que se encuentren en el polo sur de la luna. Esto según una nueva animación.
El Scientific Visualization Studio de la NASA en el Goddard Space Flight Center en Maryland lanzó un breve video que comprime lo que sería una toma de tres meses (o un poco más de tres días lunares) en dos minutos. Puedes ver la Tierra subiendo y bajando mientras el sol se desliza grácilmente por el horizonte.
Al observarse detenidamente el video, después de un tiempo, se verá un eclipse terrestre. Es decir, la Tierra pasa frente al sol, que es lo opuesto a los eclipses lunares que podemos ver desde la Tierra.
La cámara virtual de la animación está en el borde del cráter Shackleton, parcialmente visible en la parte inferior derecha, y apunta a la Tierra. Esta es aproximadamente la misma región a la que apunta la NASA para las futuras misiones Artemis.
La NASA espera poner el pie en la superficie más adelante en esta década con un conjunto de robots exploradores. Estas cargas útiles, conocidas colectivamente como el programa Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS), podrían llegar a la luna a partir de 2022.
