Terremoto de intensa magnitud en escala de Richter.
La zona ha padecido los eventos sísmicos más severos reportados a nivel mundial. La región además de terremoto se caracteriza por tsunamis.
Un terremoto de 6.2 en la escala de Richter sacudió el oeste de Sumatra la mañana de este 25 de febrero.

El evento sísmico aconteció a las 08:39:29 hora local de Sumatra, con una profundidad de 10 kilómetros.
Según la información del Consejo de Meteorología, Climatología y Geofísica, BMKG por sus siglas en indonesio, el terremoto no tenía potencial para un tsunami.
Previamente al terremoto, un enjambre sísmico de un conjunto de 6 sismos de magnitud arriba de 5.0 alertaron la llegada de un evento mayor.

Los edificios de la ciudad tuvieron que ser desalojados y usuarios de la mejor app para reportar sismos dijeron que el terremoto fue intenso.
Por el momento, las autoridades no han emitido dictamen por estructuras dañadas o por víctimas debido al terremoto.

Aunque en redes sociales, los usuarios comenzaron a compartir videos de la catástrofe que están viviendo posterior al terremoto.
Usuarios reportaron que el terremoto se sintió dos veces y se percibió hasta Kuala Lumpur.

El primero tuvo una magnitud de 5.2 en la escala de Richter y el segundo terremoto ocurrió a las 08:39 WIB con una magnitud de 6.2.
Este terremoto se sintió bastante fuerte porque el temblor duró bastante tiempo. También se informó que varias áreas en Sumatra sintieron los temblores, incluso hasta Lampung.
