Semanas después de haber sido abandonado y dado por muerto, el caballo River está animado, aprendiendo a comer y viviendo una nueva vida.
Pero no todo fue siempre así. Te platicamos su historia.
Historia de River, un caballo rescatado.
Hace pocos años, River Maximus fue dejado en abandono en el parque Laird, de Modesto, en California, estados Unidos, en medio de la noche.
Estaba severamente demacrado y al borde de la muerte.
Un pescador local y su hijo, que casualmente se encontraban en el parque en ese momento, escucharon la conmoción del caballo, siendo sacado de un remolque y arrojado al suelo polvoriento.
Eligieron publicar un video en un grupo local de Facebook.
La publicación generó un alboroto dentro de la comunidad local, y se lanzó una misión de rescate para ayudar al caballo casi muerto a tener una segunda oportunidad de vida.
No se pudo identificar a los responsables de tener en esta situación de vida a River. Pero un sargento local, de nombre Josh Clayton, integrante del Departamento del Sheriff del condado de Stanislaus, dijo que llegaron a un «callejón sin salida» con la investigación.

Luego, River siguió una dieta constante de tres comidas al día con suplementos y nutrientes adicionales para ayudarlo a acelerar su recuperación y seguir adelante.
Ahora es un caballo que ha ganado peso y lo calzaron de manera adecuada para ayudar a reequilibrar y alinear sus piernas, caderas, hombros y espalda.
